The 2018 Bourgogne Blanc, which comes from the Les Grands Champs lieu-dit, is aged for 11 months in barrel with just 10% new oak, all in demi-muids. It has a delightful, well-defined bouquet of white flowers and a hint of praline. The palate is taut on the entry, and a welcome twist of sour lemon lends drive and race to the finish. Quite intellectual for such a "lowly" Burgundy. Recommended.

Bourgogne

Bourgogne AOC represents the entry-level wines of Burgundy, offering a taste of the region's winemaking traditions. These wines, primarily made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, cover a broad area from Chablis to Beaujolais. Red wines are light to medium-bodied with red berry flavours and earthy notes, while the whites are crisp and mineral-driven with green apple and citrus. Accessible and versatile, Bourgogne AOC wines are an excellent introduction to Burgundy. Notable producers include Joseph Drouhin, Louis Jadot, and Bouchard Père et Fils.
